Prayer and Ways it can Apply to Relaxation and Stress Release
After much thought, I decided to include a page on prayer on the site, as after research and consideration, I felt that for many people, prayer can be a healing, releasing, and beneficial concept, and practice.
I realise that not everyone is deeply religious, and this is OK. Again, I felt this page should be included, as for many people, prayer is an intensely releasing mechanism, and a faith builder too.
This can apply equally to spiritual relaxation, healing, positivity, and serenity, and a general management of reduced stress.
Prayer is a sincere desire to connect with the higher source identified as God, the Creator, Allah, Buddha Mind, the Tao or the God that you believe in. Scientific studies have shown that love, intention, compassion and mercy are essential to the healing process. These concepts all apply, regardless of your religious background. A person can pray through chanting, ritual, singing, walking, speaking, reading, thought- anything that is right for the person concerned.
Prayer can invlove different requests, or gratitude for things done or given, and can include statements like the following:
May I be healed.
May I be free of suffering.
May I be at peace.
I ask this in the name of my highest good.
At the end of the day, the best thing that can be done (I give this as my humble opinion) is that you take the time to still yourself, and talk to your higher power in any way that feels natural to you.
I always believe in thanking my higher source for that which I have, and also for the things I would like to have in the future, as if I already own them, as this manifests, or brings to my reality, these things sooner than I otherwise would attain them.
Please remember, how ever, that these are your prayers, so at the end of the day, you can say what is right for you, in your heart.
If you are able to feel calmer, quieter, increased reassurance, or comfort after your prayer, than you have achieved the benefits of prayer- the sense of faith and release of anguish and a return to a relaxed, calm, inner strength.
For some, who may not have prayed at all in the past, a simple prayer to help you start is as follows:
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and (the) wisdom to know the difference."
This is known as the serenity prayer.
In addition, also simply be yourself. You are not copying anyone, just praying in your own way to get the result you want.
Something to note is that often, we do get exactly what we want, so it is wise to ask carefully, as often we do get what we want in great abundance.
Enjoy, and be the best you can be.
NB: A very important part of prayer is your state of mind when you are praying.
Let loose, do not fear, and feel a sense of calm, faith, and expectation that you will receive your request.
This is particularly important in channellingbthe likelyhood of success in your request.
More information is included in one of the chapters in Napoleon Hill's Book on wealth and riches.
I have included a link to a site that explains prayer in greater detail.
