The Basic Steps to Create A Web Page
Ok, you’re interested in writing a web page, and making it available for people around the world to see.
This is an admirable task, and one that is worth the time taken to create a tangible, useable result.
Your web page may be on any number of subjects.
The scope of possibilities is endless, and limited by only your imagination.
I have chosen to include this in this website, as I have found that web page creation for me has been very enjoyable, and very relaxing, not to mention very satisfying!
Many people may look at niche markets, or areas where there are very specific interests.
Others choose more general ideas to create a page about.
At the end of the day, this is your choice.
The internet is large enough for us all, and there are many thousands of pages added every day.
The Choice of Topic and Your Niche Markets.
Once you have decided the topic you want to create a page about, you need to do some research.
This is not important if you are creating a page for a hobby, or simply a web page for the family.
In a case like this, you would most likely tell the family directly the address of the web page (more about this later).
However, in a case where you want to have as many people as possible looking at your page, you need to do some preliminary work on keyword research.
I will expand on this in a more detailed article, but the above is for informational purposes.
The reason for this is that there are many websites that exist, some of them very good, that people simply are not finding.
The reason is that the pages are not optimised for the internet search engines.
Whoa, back up- what does that mean?
Well, there are many billions of web pages on the net.
When a person wants to look for something, they can go to a search engine.
An example is the Google search engine.
By typing a research topic into the search window, or a set of key words, a series of possible results, or web pages come up.
The order that the pages is displayed is the order of relevance of the page to the key word.
An example would be as follows:
Say you wanted to know the different diet web pages available on line?
You might type weight loss into the search box. You may type diet, or lose weight, or something like that.
The search engines will then go and look at a more detailed web page to meet the search terms you put in.
I will expand more on this in a separate page on website creation.
Content Creation
Once you have set up your ideas in your mind, and design a page concept, you then need to use a program to create the page for you.
For this purpose, I’m going to move into a more simplistic approach for you, where we will first talk about hosting, an then go back to the page design.
I say this for simplicity for beginners.
Your Host
All web pages on the internet have to be stored somewhere, or hosted, where they are available every time someone wants to look at the page.
In more simplistic language, the web pages that are available for the world wide web are stored on a computer that is always connected to the internet.
This will typically be with a hosting company, where they are hopefully able to guarantee 99% or better uptime.
All that means that when someone wants to look at your page, it is available.
This is all done by choosing a web host to host your page.
I recommend the company Ipower.
This Great Company is available through HostingVictory Here!
The reason I have chosen this company is that they are able to host multiple domain names for you, and are a very easy company to work with.
They also include a web builder for those who are not experienced on creating pages with fancy, and difficult software to use.
Hence, I left the building of the pages to this part, as I wanted to explain the concept of hosting a web page.
There is also one very important consideration to still think about.
This will be the name, or address of our website.
Your Domain Name
This is not at all difficult, and is an opportunity for you to use your imagination, and creativity too, within certain limits.
Another way to think of your domain name as your electronic address for your web page.
When you go to the web hosting page at www.hostingvictory.com, then you can choose a name for your web site.
If the name is unavailable, then you will be told this is so.
This occurs when the name is already in use by someone else.
Naturally, as more and more names are being registered, then it becomes necessary to be more imaginative and creative with your names.
There can only be one o each domain name on the internet.
As an example, there is only one page called Hostingvictory.com
There is no one else with the same hosting victory.com page name anywhere.
I always like to use the .COM extension as it is a business extension.
Some people use the .NET for a network, or .ORG if they are an organisation.
Government departments use the .GOV extension.
In the domain registration area of the hosting page, there is a window to check the availability of your name.
Once one is selected, you can register it, by filling in the online form.
This will typically ask for things like your name, address, contact details, and so on.
The domain name will have a yearly cost, typically of not more than around $6 to $8.
It is a very reasonable cost for the registration of a world wide name for a website.
Building your page
Now that you have registered your page, you are able to build it.
The benefits of this web host are that they include a web builder as part of your hosting.
However, just before you get there, you will also need to pay hosting fees, to allow your website to stay on the web. A typical fee is around another $4 to 4& per month.
So all up, the total yearly cost is around $56 to $90.
This is quite reasonable for the benefits these systems provide for your web page. In fact, I am very happy with them, and use them myself, as well as SBI Systems.
Now that this is all don, you can commence the best bit- the building.
To do this, there is an option as part of your hosting plan to use the inbuilt web page builder.
This is designed for both new, and advanced web page writers or creators.
The system is very intuitive to use, so you do not need to buy fancy software to use this.
All of this is provided for you through the host.
It is relatively self intuitive in its operation panel, and after you have created your pages, you can then check them, and edit them if you would like to improve them.
When you are happy, you can then Publish the pages to go live, or online.
From this point onwards, anyone typing your domain name will see your pages on the web.
You can change the pages at any time yourself, by logging in to your ‘control panel’ where you can then edit and modify your pages, and republish them to go online.
All the details like your logon, and control panel are explained in the email you receive after you create your domain name.
I realise this may seem like a lot of information, but it does all fall into place after you have had a good go at it.
Just click through to

where you will be able to commence the process.
I wish you all the very best.
